Reflection #twentyfour

The year with you.

All the tears shed, all the weariness, all the loneliness were startling, even to herself.
You had me feeling that my old self was gone, and was living the life of someone else.

The lies, the judgement passed casually, the hypocritical situations she often found herself in.
You taught me to see evil intent everywhere, sentencing me to a life of second guessing and cynicism.

A minute slip of displeasure, a little show of rebellion, a subtle gesture of hatred were frowned upon immensely.
You had me masking my emotions, stopping myself from defending what is right.

No chances at redemption, no room for forgiveness, no show of justice.
You made me grow up faster than I planned to, in which I'd like to thank you for it.

I never said goodbye to you.
Because I believe that we will meet again...someday.
