Reflection #18
We started out as drivers at the start of the expressway, driving down the road with the only exit being the end of the expressway. Along the way, we made friends with other drivers so that the journey would be more enjoyable, and enemies with other racers that just rubbed us the wrong way. However, as we travel, we came to be more aware of our surroundings. We may have distanced ourselves from our friends, or even till the extend that one of them became our archenemy. On the other hand, our perceived enemies may have just become our close friends, accompanying us for the rest of the journey.
Nearing the end, new friendships may be forged, mistakes may be made, yet there was neither time nor opportunities to push them a notch further, to seek forgiveness, for everyone was furiously speeding to be at the front of the pack before stepping on the brake pedal.
At the end of the expressway, stopping for the red light, you wonder who will be going in the same direction as you are after the light turns green, and just how many go on to their separate ways without a goodbye, without even bothering to look at you for the last time.
I wonder,
Will you remain in my path, at least, till the next road junction?
So that there's more time, so that we can have a chance.
